Electric bikes are gaining in popularity. In my own experience, I have noticed a dramatic increase in bicycles with some type of pedal assist on my local bike path.
While some may scoff at the idea of adding power to a bicycle, it does open new doors to some who have previously retired their bike due to physical limitations. Electric bikes are also a great option for short commutes or pulling a trailer.
Electric Bikes at a Big Box Store?
On a recent trip to Target, the Schwinn Marshall, a hybrid electric bike caught my eye. For me personally, this is the first time that I have seen an electric bike in a big box store. There was no display model, but instead a boxed bike was positioned on the shelf.
How much does the Schwinn Marshall cost?
Bikes at Target are on the low end of the price scale, so the $1599 price tag has to be the most expensive bicycle to ever grace the shelves at Target. At the time of writing this, the bike can be purchased online at Target or Amazon for $899.99 which is low for an electric bike, but still pricey for Target. I’m curious to see if these move at the current price, or eventually go on clearance.
What Size does the Schwinn Marshall come in?
The Schwinn Marshall is offered in a s/m and a l/xl. My Tragerget only had the s/m, but I found both sizes on Amazon.
What Type of battery does the Schwinn Marshall have?
The Schwinn Marshall has a 288 watt-hour internal downtube battery.
Charge time: 4 hours
Range: Up to 35 miles per charge
Speed: Pedal assist up to 20 MPH
